While our schools and colleges are on their summer break now, Suffolk County Council is continuing to work to support our children and young people with Additional needs.
See what support is availableChildren's Speech and Language Therapy in East and West Suffolk is provided by Integrated Community Paediatric Services. The service sees children with a range of speech, language and communication needs (including eating/drinking difficulties). The services provides an assessment and intervention service for children with identified needs. These can present as:
- unclear speech
- slow or unusual development of spoken language
- little or no spoken language
- difficulties with chewing or eating and drinking
- difficulties in understanding what people say
- stammered (or stuttered) speech
- voice problems
The service operates out of two bases - one in Ipswich and one in Bury St Edmunds, and aims to support children/young people and their families by providing therapy and appropriate packages of care to meet the individual needs of each child.
