This website is run by Suffolk County Council.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

1. Some videos do not have audio description (AD). This fails WCAG 2.2 success criteria 1.2.5 Audio Description (Prerecorded) (AA). We plan to add audio descriptions to videos by September 2027.

2. Not all text has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against the background colour. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criteria 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum) (AA). We plan to fix text colour contrast issues by September 2027.

3. Some images contain text information. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criteria 1.4.5 Images of Text (AA). We plan to fix text in images by September 2027.

4. Not all menus, links, buttons and other controls be operated by keyboard. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criteria 2.1.1 Keyboard (A). We plan to fix keyboard access issues by September 2027.

5. The purpose of every link is not always clear from its link text. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criteria 2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context) (A). We plan to fix link text issues by September 2027.

Disproportionate burden

We do not categorise any accessibility issues on this website as a disproportionate burden to fix within the meaning of the regulations. We'll make another assessment when carrying out our next accessibility audit.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

PDFs and other documents

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.

Live video

We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We're working with websites users, internal colleagues and technology suppliers to fix content which fails to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard.

This website was last tested in October 2026 against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard.

The audit was carried out by Suffolk County Council's Content Design team based on a sample of pages using automated software (Siteimprove, WAVE) and manual testing.
